Year of New Beer: Colombian Necktie, Nightmare Brewing Co (NY)

Not sure I would have chosen to give this name to a beer, but unfortunate moniker aside, this is a pretty tasty brew. A variety of fruits on the nose...mango, grapefruit, pineapple, lime...all backed by a heavy sea salt and wheat bread. Warmth brings the faintest of strawberry. Moderately tart on the tongue, with lime, mango, and unripened strawberry garnering the most attention. Plenty of brine and acidity, with a really unusual tomatillo-like note coming toward the finish. This is due, I assume, to the lulo used in the brewing. Very crisp and a touch dry, with little to no hint of the 7.2% alcohol. Unusual, but I like it.
