Year of New Beer: Chocolate Orange IPA, Thomas Creek Brewery (SC)

Roasted chocolate malts and citrus pith on the nose; flavors start out with a bitter cocoa powder that turns slightly sweeter and creamier as the beer warms. Orange peel becomes a little more noticeable as well, but in the end, hoppy bitterness wins out. Closer to Black IPA than American, but I'm not going to complain. Solid beer.
