Year of New Beer: Barrel and Bean, Allagash Brewing Co (ME)

Nose is more subdued than I was expecting, offering up caramel, toast, very mild coffee, and hints of Belgian spice. Very smooth on the taste buds, caramel leading once again. Spiced fruits layered over a mild vanilla and oak, with coffee left as a subtle footnote. Absolutely nothing about this suggests that it is 10% ABV. This is very good, but I'm left wanting more...more coffee, more bourbon, more Belgian. Nothing really takes charge, but nothing is really wrong. Would certainly drink again, though.
