Year of New Beer: Two Beers

Up first is Lightbringer, Rock House Brewing (Lexington). Really nice fruit notes of pear, apple, and banana on the nose, with hints of spice. Great transition to the tongue, fruits still in the forefront, slightly sweet with a nice malt backbone and a definitive Belgian yeast note, with a very well-hidden alcohol. Really nice version of the style. Up next was Late Melt, Casey Brewing & Blending (CO). Simply masterful...unfruited, yet full of peach, apricot, and tart white grape. Wonderfully tart without being overly acidic, backed by hints of grain and oak. This is one of the best sours I've had in a long time.
