Year of New Beer: Loda Biergarten flight

Written By: Dion on 03/11/2020
Quick rundown, starting at the top: Pilsner, Ferus Artisan Ales (AL). Not a bad beer at all, just maybe a little too hoppy for a pils. Second: Brandy Barrel Aged Tears of My Enemies, Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta). Perfectly balanced roasty bitterness alongside milk chocolate and a subtle brandy barrel influence. Really good. Third: Guava Jelly, Chandeleur Island Brewing Co (MS). Hands down winner of the flight. Hints of sweet peach and apricot lead, but then an awesome blast of sour guava hits. Could crush this all night long. Last: Rinse/Repeat Citra & Mosaic, Westbrook Brewing Co (SC). Nice New England IPA with plenty of orange/grapefruit/lime/berry notes. Westbrook rarely misses, so I knew this would be good. Cool spot. Looks like a total dive beer bar, then surprises you with everything from loaded totchos to burgers to an incredible seared ahi tuna salad. May have to have another meal (and flight) before our week is over.
