Year of New Beer: A Nice Morning Drive, Monnik Beer Company (Louisville)

Very subdued nose that still manages to cover a lot of ground, even though nothing overpowers. Very light, grassy hops, hints of pear, dusty hay, and a bit of yeasty funk. On the tongue, hops take a back seat, allowing the yeast note to assert itself, blending nicely with pear and maybe a little apple. Just enough dust and funk to keep it interesting. I don't know the first thing about brewing beer, but I know it takes a special skill to squeeze a bunch of flavor out of a lower alcohol brew, and Scott Hand is probably one of the best at it.
