Year of New Beer: Motherboy, Mile Wide Beer Co (Louisville)

Every now and then, for reasons I can't quite explain, a beer that is widely available slips through the cracks for me. Hate that I've let this one escape me, because it's pretty awesome. Plenty of grapefruit and citrus pith along with waves of herbal grasses and hints of honey on the nose. On the tongue, citrus is still prevalent, but mango and hints of apricot emerge along the middle. Dank herb gets a bit more assertive, but everything is well-balanced by the honey malt backbone. It's easy to overlook top-notch, old school IPAs like this in today's chase for the latest haze. I won't make that mistake again.
