Year of New Beer: Sweet Virginia, Blue Stallion Brewing Co (Lexington)

I missed this on the initial release earlier in the week, but thankfully the good folks at Blue Stallion canned another run for the weekend. I'm not a huge lager fan, but lately the local breweries have put out a few versions to bring me around. This one has an aroma that just screams fruit punchy goodness. Loads of berries and tropical fruit. And I'll just be honest, there's nothing about this that says "lager" in the taste department, but I don't have a problem with that. It comes off as a lightly carbonated, moderately tart fruit juice, with just enough underlying sweetness to get that Sangria thing they're going for. I think the black currant has a bit more influence than the passionfruit, but it's difficult to ascertain what one would be like without the other. At any rate, this is outstanding. Highly recommend grabbing while it's available.
