Year of New Beer: Hati, 3 Floyds Brewing Co (IN)

So this looks the part of a New England IPA, and some of the aroma components are there, but that's about where it ends. Do get some pineapple and mango on the nose, with a building note of field grasses. On the tongue, this is definitely more traditional IPA, with a pretty harsh bitterness grabbing hold early on. Lots of citrus pith and a resinous bite that seems to get in the way of just about any other flavor characteristic. Has a grassy, almost spicy lean throughout. Not a bad beer, but you've got to enjoy a solid hop bite to like this one.
