Year of New Beer: Domo Affogato, Rock House Brewing (Lexington)

Rock House takes (what I assume to be) their already solid base porter and juices it up with espresso, chocolate, lactose, and vanilla. Nose is filled with roasted bean and baker's chocolate, along with lightly charred malts. Transitions nicely to the tongue. Plenty of roast, but not overly bitter as the sugars seem to take the edge off a bit. Very modest vanilla. Would like to see this aspect ramped up just a bit. Great example of a darker beer that drinks much lighter than appearances would have you believe. Nicely done.
