Year of New Beer: A Wine-Dark Sea, Rock House Brewing (Lexington)

Very fruit forward on the nose as notes of blackberry, cherry, and plum leap from the glass. Warmth allows for hints of caramel and leather. Much the same on the tongue as the black currants push the berry and red wine character. Does develop some depth, but it takes time and aeration. The caramel and burnt sugar malts hit late in the glass. No idea what the ABV is on this, but I felt like it hid it reasonably well. Tasty stuff, and I can't wait to see other iterations of this barleywine.
