As April draws to a close and spring is in full swing, I decided to spend the last few days leading into May drinking some big beers. Not necessarily uber-rare, just things you can't walk in and buy off the shelf. This one boasts a nose that is at first leafy and vegetal, but quickly gives way to a nice roasted malt and chocolate. On the tongue, a fluffy cocoa powder leads into a citrus hop bitterness that is bold and sticky. The hops are powerful and resinous through the finish. An outstanding brew, which is no surprise given the breweries involved. This next week should be fun!--purchased at The Beer Trappe
