Year of New Beer: Detritivore, Jester King Brewery (Austin)

Very mild nose that hints at a funky saison base, along with subtle cherry and dusty wheat. Very similar transition to the tongue, with the cherry being just a bit more prevalent. The fruit is just enough to keep the dry, funky, barrel aspects from taking over. This initially comes off as simple, but warmth and aeration allow it to become layered and moderately complex. Very nice beer.
