Year of New Beer: Raspberry Hand Pie, Rock House Brewing (Lexington)

This one had been shuffled back in the fridge and was almost forgotten. Nose is pretty straightforward, giving you what is expected...tart raspberry juice and just a slight undercurrent of pastry crust. Raspberries are only slightly sour on the tongue, and actually give way to a subtle jammy sweetness in the middle. Rock House has figured out the crust aspect of these pie beers maybe better than anyone, and this one is no exception. Very light, but enough to keep this from being "just" a raspberry sour. Nicely done.
