Year of New Beer: El Conquistador Extra Pale Ale, Mission Brewery (CA)

After hammering my palate with bourbon barrel aged beers for the better part of the last week, I decided to lighten things up a bit tonight. The aroma on this one carries a zesty lemon and grapefruit peel with only faint hints of sweetness. Transitions to the tongue in a similar fashion, but the hop bitterness is surprisingly strong, remaining pithy and dry well through the finish. Good, not great.
