Year of New Beer: Coconut Quadolith, Rock House Brewing (Lexington)

Riffing on their very successful Coconut Monolith, Rock House takes a lighter bodied Belgian quad and gives it the same treatment, with equally enjoyable results. Chocolate commands the nose, slightly sweet and milky in its presentation. Letting this get up closer to room (or at least my basement) temp allows some coconut to pop, reminiscent of an Almond Joy. Bourbon is subtle and adds a nice layer. Chocolate is at the forefront on the tongue as well. Hints of plum and caramel across the middle with a subtle toasted coconut. Bourbon is prevalent but well integrated. Easier drinking and lighter bodied than Monolith, as it probably should be. Good stuff. Glad I bought a couple.
