Year of New Beer: Kroshka, Rock House Brewing (Lexington)

For me, a good stout knows no season, so I made a beeline for RH tonight after work to get a taste of this new Russian Imperial. Nose is bold with a heavy char and solid chocolate backing. Hints of burnt sugar and earthy hops. Transitions virtually unchanged to the tongue. Perfectly balanced roasted malts and bittersweet chocolate. Hints of dark fruit, coffee, and campfire. Medium level bitterness. Best of all, this thing has some body to it. Perfectly fine as is, but this beer will be a beast when they start experimenting with it. This is outstanding. If you don't have a stop on Luigart Court in your regular rotation, you are missing out on some great beers.
