Year of New Beer: Lythronax, Pax Verum Brewing Co (IN)

Opened this just assuming it was a double IPA (since I hadn't read the label). Started pouring it and thought, "Wow, nobody makes black IPAs these days, cool!" Finally smelled it, looked at the label, and realized it's an oatmeal coffee stout.  Nose is really nice bittersweet chocolate, toasted grains, and just a hint of coffee. Very well integrated on the tongue. Roasty up front, but never gets overly bitter. Chocolate with a lighter sweetness across the middle, and some light, earthy hops to finish. Never get a ton of coffee, but that's OK, still a great beer.
