After reading the label, I was expecting this to be a train wreck. No way pineapple should work in an imperial stout. Fortunately, there's enough milk sugar and vanilla to prove me wrong. Nose is straight, chocolate-y milk stout. Not much else, really, just sweet milk chocolate. Flavor does give a nod to the imperial stout with some toasted malts, but the vanilla and lactose keep this firmly planted in milk stout territory. Warmth does give off a touch of pineapple, but it's subtle, and I honestly don't know if I could have picked it out blind. At any rate, this is a sweet treat that gives no hint of its ABV. Really nice.
