
Year of New Beer (Round 2): Rye Cubed, Terrapin Beer Co (GA)

Candied pineapple, rye spice, and an acetone-like hit on the nose. On the tongue is a very unusual blend of a dry, peppery rye spice with a big brown sugar malt backbone. The alcohol (10.7%) makes no attempt at hiding, leaving this one a bit of a hot mess. I typically don't age Double IPA's, but I think this one needs a little time to mellow.
