Year of New Beer: Innis & Gunn Original, Innis & Gunn (Scotland)

I usually avoid pretty much any beer in a clear bottle, but decided to take a chance on a sampler pack from this Scottish brewery. Muted bourbon and vanilla on the nose, with hints of oak and toffee. Things are much the same on the tongue, as the oaked bourbon ramps up with the addition of some apple skin sweetness that rides a layer of caramel malt through the finish. Pretty solid, understated brew.
