Year of New Beer: Pot Kettle Black, Yeastie Boys (New Zealand)

Strong roasted malt, sweet cocoa, and coffee on the nose. On the tongue the roast is bitter, with a leafy hop presence. Upon warming, a smoky char lingers stubbornly on the taste buds, with a bit of tobacco lean. This one comes off sort of like a hoppy porter. Pretty enjoyable brew.
