Year of New Beer: Black Rye, Founders Brewing (MI)

Mostly rich chocolate and coffee bean on the nose, with an undercurrent of leafy, green hops. On the tongue, more of a roasted chocolate malt asserts itself, with a decent hop bitterness arising mid-palate, along with the the rye spice. Traces of nut and even a little smoke on the finish. Excellent beer.
