Year of New Beer: Humongous Midwest Red Ale, North Peak Brewing (MI)

Citrus, pine, bread crust, and toffee work the olfactory nerve in waves. On the tongue, the flavors expand a bit as tangerine and grapefruit are well represented, while the evergreen hop notes pick up in their intensity as well. All of this sits atop a big, chewy, caramel malt backbone. Sticky and bitter on the finish. Not the best red ale I've tried, but pretty solid nonetheless. Picked up at Red Dot in Frankfort.
