Year of New Beer: Scythe and Sickle, Brewery Ommegang (NY)

One of my scores from the Jungle Jim's run on Saturday, this Biere de Garde is sweet on the nose with hints of fruit. On the tongue, a bit of rye spiciness begins to be noticed, along with some pepper and breadiness. Overall, I believe this one is a sweeter, heavier example of the style when compared to others I've tried. Good, but not necessarily in my wheelhouse.
