Year of New Beer: Color Field, Grimm Artisanal Ales (NY)

The nose is sharp with lemon and some red wine characteristics, as more floral notes from the hibiscus and chamomile creep in with warmth. On the tongue, some saison-like qualities show up as a peppery spice plays against an earthy, yeasty funk. The tartness is borderline acidic, softened only slightly by the sweeter floral notes. A nice beer on this warm, early summer evening.
