Year of New Beer: Black Racer IPA, Bear Republic Brewing (CA)

Roasted malt, smoky char, and a mild citrus on the nose. On the tongue, the hops assert themselves quite a bit more as the malt takes a back seat. The pine bitterness is drying and the alcohol kicks in as the beer warms. Not as good as their Racer 5, but solid nonetheless.
