Year of New Beer: Rover Truck, Toppling Goliath Brewing (IA)

Chocolate malt, mild coffee, and hints of roasted nuts make up the bulk of the aroma. On the tongue, an initial hit of cocoa powder bitterness softens and becomes sweeter as the oatmeal creaminess kicks in. Coffee bean and light smoke arrive mid-palate before an earthy hop bite and mild acidity ride through the finish. A touch over-carbed for an oatmeal stout in my opinion, but still an enjoyable brew.
