Year of New Beer: Big Woody Lager, The Brew Kettle (OH)

Written By: Dion on 01/10/2015

Normally, a lager is not high on my list when choosing a beer in a bar. But since the other Brew Kettle offerings were beers that I had tried previously, and I had Asian takeout to eat with it, it seemed like a good choice. Mild sweet grains on the nose with a bit of cracker malt. On the tongue is the expected lager sweetness, but it's not excessive. Smooth and relatively refreshing, and a solid pairing with Asian food. A nice introductory beer, but Brew Kettle certainly has much more impressive offerings, such as the White Rajah and Lupulo Libre, which I enjoyed tonight as well. Thanks to Ralph Quillin for hosting the tap takeover, Paris is always a great time.
