Year of New Beer: Tartan Ale, Port City Brewing (VA)

So this beer had the unenviable task of following last night's beast, Country Western Volume III. Just not fair. The nose is lightly sweet with traces of raisins, cooked apples, and toasted bread. On the tongue are those elements with additional notes of roasted nuts, lightly charred wood, cured tobacco, and earthy hops. A little thin in the body and not overly complex, but it did make a decent companion to burgers on the grill.
