Year of New Beer: The Barista, Clown Shoes (MA)

Sweet caramel and a chocolatey espresso anchor a nose that includes some toasted brown bread, nuts, and a hint of vanilla. Aromas transition well to the tongue, with the oats providing a nice, creamy base for a subtle earthy hop and burnt sugars. Still a solid espresso presence despite nearly eleven months in the bottle. A really nice treat for a lazy Christmas morning.
