Year of New Beer: Living Proof: Strawberry Ginger Golden Wild Ale, Country Boy Brewing (Lexington)

So the camera on my phone decided to focus on the equipment rather than the beer. Fitting, I guess, since the new brew system in Georgetown saw its first use this week. This beer, however, will undoubtedly remain a product of the Chair Avenue facility, and it excites me for the things to come. As more and more of the standard production moves to Georgetown, the brew system in Lexington will be freed up for more experimental beers like this one. Sharp, unripened strawberry hits the nose, covering up the ginger, which presents only in trace amounts with warmth. On the tongue is a puckering strawberry kick that makes its presence felt from start to finish. Whereas Funkland Country Shuffle featured a fruit that maintained a bit of a sweet, jam-like quality, this is tart strawberry from the jump. SlightIy yeasty with an earthy, dusty lean. I was hoping for a greater ginger influence, but this is still enjoyable if you are a sour beer fan
