Year of New Beer: Petite Sour Blueberry, Crooked Stave Artisan Beer Project (CO)

Tart fruit juices abound on the nose, but nothing could be specifically identified as blueberry. More like lemon, limes, and green apple. Traces of oak and earthy hay with warmth. Very zesty on the tongue with an acidic kick that puckers and dries the mouth. Fruits are again very tart, similar to a Sweetart candy. Only with warmth does a fleeting blueberry arrive, only to be quickly ushered aside by an oaky funk and mineral water component. Remains sour and dry through the finish. Nice beer, just lacking the blueberry influence I was expecting.
