Year of New Beer: Paradise Pucker, Rogue Ales (OR)

While Rogue's Dead Guy Ale helped push me to a different level in my craft beer journey, a series of poor beers by them several years ago had pretty much knocked them off my radar. Today while picking up a few groceries, this caught my eye. Since I've been on a sour kick, I decided to give it a shot. Nose is zesty and sharp with tropical and citrus tones, all backed by a bit of funky, bready malt aroma. Pretty straightforward on the tongue as orange peel leads the way with a solid sour punch, joined by just a touch of guava sweetness and a slight damp wheat funk. Very enjoyable beer, especially given the relatively low price.
