Year of New Beer: 7 Spanish Angels, Brazos Valley Brewing (TX)

Having been shoved to the back of my beer fridge and honestly forgotten, I expected this to be well beyond its prime drinking point. The nose brings a nice coffee kick, with toasted malts and a modest nuttiness. The nose translates very well to the tongue as the coffee remains robust despite the beer's age. A light, earthy hop bitterness blends with a touch of chocolate and nuts from the pecan coffee. This is quite good, and now I'm kicking myself for not drinking it sooner.
